Iran’s Isfahan, Khorramshahr and Iraq’s Basra chambers sign trade cooperation pact

The chambers of commerce of Iran’s Isfahan and Khorramshahr and Iraq’s Basra have signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding trade and investment cooperation, the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce said.

The agreement was signed during a joint meeting of business representatives from Isfahan and Basra, attended by the heads of the Isfahan and Khorramshahr chambers, where participants discussed trade and investment opportunities and ways to deepen economic ties between the private sectors of the two countries. The meeting also focused on strengthening transit routes linking Isfahan, Khorramshahr and Basra and using existing capacities to facilitate trade and investment. Participants discussed the role of Khorramshahr as a transit gateway for trade between Isfahan and Basra, as well as the need to improve transport and logistics infrastructure to support higher trade volumes. The trilateral memorandum is intended to create new opportunities for economic cooperation and encourage greater involvement by private-sector businesses in trade and investment between the two countries.
