Iran, Indonesia chambers sign cooperation MoU to expand trade ties

The chambers of commerce of Iran and Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, expanding business exchanges and promoting joint investment, on the sidelines of the 40th Board of Directors Meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development in Ankara.

The agreement, signed by the presidents of the two countries’ chambers of commerce, provides for closer cooperation in trade and economic relations, the exchange of business delegations, technology transfer, services, and the sharing of commercial, industrial and educational information. It also envisages joint meetings to identify barriers to bilateral trade from the perspective of the private sectors of both countries and to propose practical solutions. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Iran Chamber of Commerce President Samad Hassanzadeh highlighted Iran’s industrial and manufacturing capacities as well as the broad potential for joint investment between Iranian and Indonesian businesses. He said future joint projects should be designed to contribute to the diversification of regional and international supply chains, while encouraging stronger long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
