Your Excellencies, Distinguished Colleagues,
It is a privilege to address this esteemed gathering on behalf of Iran’s private sector—a sector deeply affected by the impacts of climate change and committed to actively engaging in the global response to this crisis.
For us in the private sector, climate change is not solely an environmental issue; it poses a profound challenge to Iran’s economic growth, sustainable development, and social stability. The repercussions of climate change are evident across our agricultural, industrial, and water resource sectors, impacting supply chains and endangering key pillars of our economy. These changes pose both direct and indirect threats to our national economic and social security.
Iran’s private sector recognizes that a sustainable future requires decisive climate action across all levels. To this end, we have implemented effective measures, capitalizing on advanced technologies and localizing necessary frameworks.
The petrochemical industry, a cornerstone of Iran’s economy, is emblematic of these efforts. Through substantial investments in advanced technologies, enhanced resource efficiency, and optimized energy usage, we are actively working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These initiatives mark a positive step forward; however, reaching more ambitious goals requires international collaboration and support.
Therefore, I appeal to the countries and international organizations represented at this conference to support Iran’s private sector in accessing financial resources and facilitating technology transfer. Such support will empower us to scale our efforts and contribute more effectively to the global climate response.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to implementing national carbon reduction strategies and believe that these endeavors will only succeed if reinforced by robust international cooperation and solidarity. Now is the time for all of us, particularly within the public and private sectors, to unite in renewed commitment toward a greener, more sustainable future.
I thank you for your attention and sincerely hope this conference will serve as a catalyst for constructive and innovative collaboration.
Hello
We Iranians have been paying close attention to our environment for more than 3000 years. You can see this claim from the petroglyphs and inscriptions of Persepolis to the Qanat system, which is registered as an invention of Iranians in the world.
It is obvious and clear that over the past 100 years, we and the whole world have caused very serious and irreparable damage to nature by entering the industrial age, and today we are all aware of this serious danger.
We, in turn, in the private sector of Iran, have tried to strengthen the carbon reduction sector of our country by interacting, by cooperating and coordinating our facilities and equipment in various fields.
We hope that from now on, through our interaction with the world, we will cooperate with various private sectors in other countries and reduce carbon.
Carbon reduction in Iran is definitely worth the price, and we hope that you will help us to achieve a successful process in the field of reducing carbon and pollution and increasing production efficiency together.
