Noting that the volume of trade between Tehran and Beijing has declined since a record high in 2014, Majidreza Hariri, the chairman of Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce, said that trade exchanges between the two countries are on an upward trajectory once again.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Iran Chamber of Commerce Newsroom, he said that Iran-China trade volume stood at a record $51.8 billion in 2014 but then it began to shrink.
Hariri attributed the decline in trade exchanges between Tehran and Beijing to lowering oil prices, as he said crude oil and condensates account for a main part of exchanges between the two countries.
He believed that a large part of Iran’s non-oil exports to China are also based on oil products.
With the growth in the oil prices and the volume of Iran’s oil exports to China over the past two years, the two countries are nearing previous record levels, he noted.
